Nanjing, Jiangsu, China

Kalemerri is the independent professional practice of Adam Xing, a social compliance auditor and consultant. I have worked in social compliance and ethical auditing for 10+ years since 2016.

I started primarily with social auditing. Over time, my work has extended into supplier improvement, living wage, human rights due diligence and responsible sourcing. My work has involved international brands and buyers, manufacturing suppliers, audit and certification organizations, and consulting teams.

Professional Credentials

  • APSCA Certified Social Compliance Auditor (CSCA)
  • Social Accountability International (SAI) Registered Consultant
  • Over 10 years’ hands‑on experience in social auditing since 2016

Experience and Approach

Most of my work has been carried out with manufacturing suppliers in China. It spans factory assessments, worker interviews, working-hour and wage reviews, health and safety, management systems, corrective action and follow-up. I also work on projects in other Asian sourcing markets when required.

International requirements do not always translate directly into daily factory practice. I examine how work is actually organized, compare documents with worker interviews, management discussions and on-site observations, and make clear what the evidence does—and does not—establish.

Alongside independent assessments, I have supported suppliers over longer periods on social compliance management and improvement. For this work, the focus is on understanding why issues recur, agreeing practical changes with those responsible and checking whether they work. Assessment and advisory assignments are scoped separately.

Who I Support

Brands & Buyers — Supplier assessments, remediation follow-up and responsible sourcing work grounded in local conditions.

Audit, Consulting & HRDD Teams — China-based field support for supplier assessments, worker interviews, evidence verification and project coordination, within agreed methodologies and reporting arrangements.

Suppliers — Understanding customer requirements, preparing for audits and addressing findings through practical improvements.

Current Areas of Focus

My current work and professional development are mainly focused on:

  • Social Compliance
  • Supplier Improvement and Remediation
  • Living Wage
  • Human Rights Due Diligence
  • Responsible Sourcing

These areas overlap in practice, particularly when working on longer-term supplier improvement and supply-chain risks.

Voluntary & Pro Bono Work

I believe there should be some room in professional work for voluntary contribution.

I am open to providing pro bono support to selected non-profit organizations, social impact initiatives and other projects where my experience may be useful.

For selected early-stage start-ups, I can also provide up to 20 hours of pro bono support on social compliance, responsible sourcing or related topics, subject to the nature of the project and my availability.

This is a small personal commitment alongside my commercial work.
